Star Roller - FRAS

Underground conveyors require FRAS-compliant components without exception. The STARRoll FRAS is a composite conveyor roller for underground coal mining, delivering compliance in a 152mm diameter unit that is 20% lighter than the steel equivalent. The weight reduction directly benefits manual handling during overhead change-outs in restricted seam heights.


The STARRoll FRAS variant meets fire-resistant and anti-static requirements mandatory for conveyor components in underground coal mines across Australia. It retains all performance characteristics of the standard STARRoll composite range: belt-friendly surfaces with no risk of pizza cutters, corrosion resistance, reduced noise, and exceptionally low TIR for vibration-free operation.


Available in 152mm diameter only. The roller uses a composite polymer housing with integrated labyrinth seal, low drag contact seal, double shielded bearings with C3 internal clearance, and a corrosion resistant stub shaft. Same frame compatibility as standard steel rollers with no modifications required to switch over.


Manufactured at VLI Conveyors' Beresfield factory in the Hunter Valley. Design registered, patent application filed.
