Mining Ventilation - Duct, Vent Tubes, Lay Flat Bags and Air Movers

VLI Conveyors supplies a full range of auxiliary ventilation products for underground coal mining and tunnelling operations. Effective ventilation is critical for maintaining safe atmospheric conditions at the working face, and the right ducting and air moving equipment directly affects both safety and productivity.

Our ventilation range includes:

FRAS Fibreglass Vent Tubes (Mineglass): Fine filament spiral wound construction, fully impregnated with FRAS resin through the entire wall thickness. Approved for use throughout NSW and QLD by the NSWMSTC (New South Wales Mine Safety Technology Centre). Available in straight tubes, oval tubes, 90/45/70 degree elbows, T-pieces, 70 degree Y-pieces, end caps, regulators and catchment points. Available sizes: 618mm, 720mm, 750mm and 900mm diameter.

Carbon Fibre Vent Tubes: FRAS MDA approved carbon fibre construction offering over 50% weight reduction compared to fibreglass. A 2.4m straight tube weighs just 17kg. Three reinforcing ribs along each tube provide strength for negative pressure applications. The weight reduction directly translates to fewer lifting injuries and faster installation. Available in 618mm, 718mm, 750mm and 900mm diameters. Full fittings range available matching the fibreglass line.

Layflat Vent Bags: Used for forced (positive pressure) ventilation only. Lightweight ducting available in a wide range of diameters to suit all air fans and large venturis, in long lengths to minimise joins and air loss. Can be manufactured with hanging eyelets for easy installation on roofing mesh or mono rail systems.

Semi Rigid Vent Tubes: Used where high suction is needed for dust and gas extraction. Very flexible and strong FRAS fabric allows the tubes to be manoeuvred through cut-throughs and roadways.

Venturi Air Movers: Compressed-air-powered devices that boost airflow in areas where fan-powered ventilation is impractical or insufficient. Used for spot ventilation in cut-throughs, stub entries and other areas requiring localised air movement.
