Steel Roller – Poly Lagged

Seized or failing rollers lead to belt damage, mistracking, and unplanned stoppages. VLI Conveyors' Tyton steel rollers are engineered for sustained operation in wet, dusty, and abrasive conveyor environments. The sealing and lubrication system prevents premature failure, keeping rollers turning and production running between scheduled maintenance windows.

The Tyton steel roller is VLI Conveyors' standard carrying roller for bulk material conveyor systems. The shell is fabricated from ERW 200-350 range conveyor tubing to AS1450, with end discs from hot rolled steel strip to AS1594 HA4NP,3mmfillet welded to AS 1554 GP with minimum 70% weld penetration. All shafts are manufactured from low carbon-free cutting steel to ASNZS 3679.1 Grade 300.

Bearings are single row deep groove ball type, ZZ shielded with C3 or C4 internal clearance, giving up to ten minutes of angular deflection in operation. Breather holes stabilise internal pressure to protect bearings during thermal cycling. The shaft end is painted yellow on the breather hole side, indicating the down location for wing roller mounting.

Standard sealing comprises an inner seal integral with the bearing and an outer labyrinth seal with water/dust line contact seal, acceptable for underground mines in Australia. Heavy-duty slurry seals with an outer dust/water shield are available for extreme conditions.

All bearings are factory filled with Lithium Base grease formulated for maximum water wash-out resistance. Operating temperatures -20 to +130 degrees C, drop point 184 degrees C. Surface treatment is VLI Green enamel paint with hot dipped galvanised option on request. Date of manufacture is embossed on the shaft end.
